July 2024

Here we are, already past mid-July 2024.

There has been an assassination attempt in Pennsylvania. The perpetrator, Thomas Matthew Crooks, is dead, and Donald Trump will have a permanent scar on his right ear.

U.S. President Joe Biden has COVID-19, and the Democrats are discussing finding new candidates for the upcoming election in November 2024.

On Friday, the 19th, there was worldwide panic as CrowdStrike agent (csagent.sys) caused a Worldwide panic (people witnessing shops unable to take payments, hospitals cancelling surgeries, ports refusing ships, airports refusing planes etc...)

Seems like genuine chaos on a global scale.

People are starting to notice that we might be living in a simulation...

March 2024

As we step into March 2024, the political landscape is already buzzing with anticipation. Head-to-head polls suggest a potential resurgence, predicting a victory for Trump (I sure hope this won't come to pass).

The global stage is set for expectations of a ceasefire in Gaza, diplomatic breakthroughs in Ukraine, and a thrilling manned mission to the Moon, possibly on the brink of becoming a reality.

On the technological front, the rapid evolution of artificial intelligence takes center stage (Hello Sora!).

The imminent rise of quantum computing promises a groundbreaking shift in cyber security, providing an unprecedented defense against malicious hackers.

My predictions for 2024 are my own speculations; but they paint a vivid picture of a future where politics, global events, and technology intertwine to shape the course of our world.

This dynamic year of the Dragon (2024), is the opportunity to witness the transformation of our culture, technology, science, health, and business sectors.

I can't help feeling that something big is about to happen.

In case of emergency

Lately I have noticed, how the mood can be influenced by TV Show, books, gossip, general conversation or interaction with people, music, etc ...

The weird thing is that for example depending on the moment, the same song, or movie will have an emotional impact, meaning tears will goosebumps, or great joy ; and later nothing ... because we moved on, or the overall mood is different, or we are not open to the same extent.

Reading is a great example of an activity that will impact completely differently our mood, if our mind is already filled with a lot of stress, or unsettled thoughts.

Meditation has its place in this process, because it is like coming back to the center of our being.

If we were a computer, deep sleep, meditation, having a good workout session would be like pressing the reset button.

Having a nice voice in our head, also a benevolent general atmosphere of supportive advice, like a very confident coach having our back at all time.

The internal dialog;

- You are doing good, you are fine, look at all the past events, and all the good things you've done so far.

- Remember that difficult time, you thought you would not be able to survive, you did it!

- Enjoy life, relax a little, look around you, realize how life is always surprising and accept it like a fish accept to swim in the never ending flow of water.

- There is nothing to do, in the end ; but to enjoy this good time, to breath and be grateful

- If you have a good job, a nice home, a quiet place to sleep, most of our worry are imaginary.

Finding Purposes

  1. First aspect of your soul's contract is  to find joy in spite of challenges, pain and  karma
  2. Second aspect is to find more ways to love and appreciate yourself every single day
  3. Third aspect which is to find ways to spread  your self-love and self-appreciation to others because you and others are one.

... and don't forget to have fun

Don't miss the forest  for the trees

Psychic Vampires and being nice

I could never quite understood the proverb that 'nice guy finish last'

It has bothered me for years, and recently I have realized that 'being nice' is usually not understood quite well

See 'nice people' are usually influenceable, and they default to being nice, instead of setting up proper boundaries, that's a fact

Let's just have a scenario to illustrate what I'm trying to demonstrate;

There is Peter and he is a nice person, and there is Julia (a single mother) she is a bit intrusive and using her charm to get what she wants from men, and so Julia goes to Peter's place every day - they are friends, and she ask Peter for various items, food, money and sometime for services like repair, and sometime car rides etc ... Peter is playing nice, because unconsciously he thinks that someday Julia will return favors - but she never do that. And at some point, Peter is getting very angry and feels miserable afterward because Julia then acts surprised and cut all contact with him.

A person with proper boundaries will have set the social contract first, establishing proper relationship between Julia and Peter, she asks for money, saying it will be for a couple of weeks, Peter agrees but then after 2 weeks passes - he wants his money back.

In the second scenario Peter does not play nice - he asked for his due and this action will prevent Julia to go any further - setting proper boundaries, would prevent the situation to perdure, and surprisingly maybe would have shown Julia that if she wanted to set a valid friendship she might actually give something back from time to time.

Deleted a reddit account

Today I Deleted my Reddit Account

This is something I’d been considering doing for quite some time, and had just been putting it off.
This morning, however, I found myself in an argument with a random internet stranger over something very small and trivial - this doesn’t happen often, at all.
I think in the two years I’ve been on Reddit, I’ve experienced this maybe three times.
Nonetheless, today it was the straw that broke the camel’s back.

I realized, afterward, that I was actually getting upset over something this person, somewhere on the other side of the internet, whom I would never know and never have to interact with, was saying. That’s not healthy.

I started examining how I’ve been using Reddit over the past several months and realized that the site was cutting into a significant chunk of my day. Reddit hadn’t interfered with my work productivity, but it had become a thing to do late at night, a way of killing time and distracting myself.

One thing was clear: Reddit had ceased to become a useful, positive thing for me.
For someone with an addictive personality (admittedly my own shortcoming), a site like Reddit can easily suck you in with distractions and lead to a lot of time being wasted over what is largely trivial, petty, and inconsequential content.

There are those who jump to defend the community (I’ve been there myself) and would say that Reddit isn’t a site you can really take at face value ; that in order to get the most out of it, you need to get past r/all and build your own collection of specific subreddits relevant to your interests.

That’s very true. This does greatly improve the quality of content you’re exposed to while on the site, but the signal to noise ratio is still very high.

I realized that the vast majority of useful links, news, insights, and resources I was collecting came from other sources, like Hacker News, Twitter, or more often, friends and co-workers.

Usually, by the time I saw something interesting on Reddit, I’d already heard about it from some other source.

As I said, Reddit had ceased to be a positive thing for me and had simply become a distraction.

There are any number of things I could be doing besides Reddit that would make me a happier person.

I could work on personal projects, spend more time with friends and family, start a new hobby, write more, or even give my beagle more belly rubs.

So goodbye, Reddit. It was fun, until it wasn’t.

E c o s y s t e m

This planet is a pretty robust ecosystem

Currently nature is getting slowly better because humanity is under covid lockdown
this in itself is a harsh criticism of what humans do - the modern man at least

To be fair, the ancient men were more in line with nature - except the violent conflicts, the various Empires (Greek, Roman, French, British, ...) ; the general cruelty, and the religion fanaticism - at least in Europe - men back then had little impact on the planet itself.

In the America back in the day, tribal life was just a really good and natural way to live, the carbon footprint was nonexistent,  nowadays the remaining tribes are the exception - see the Kogi Columbian tribe in the Sierra Nevada - their style of life is peaceful, and very much a

The industrial era brought the madness of men to its climax, the World War 1 and 2 followed by the cold war - brought us where we are now - humanity has become arrogant, and indifferent to the other species - while we still are in an ecosystem, We are part of this planet, we are not different (even if we think we are).

We are part of this ecosystem, we are still thinking that progress can be constant, and the important thing is to earn a salary to enjoy the modern distraction, while eating industrial food, and living in smaller and smaller properties, paying bills, and buying new mobile phone - driving electric or hybrid vehicle - and sending kids to school and universities to perpetuate the idea that this can go on and on forever...

Covid has brought a slowdown on this madness, and covid has brought more madness too

As a conclusion:

there you go

How do you question reality?

How do you question reality?

Here I am going to experiment a bit and try the Byron Katie query method called "the Work" to answer the question of "what is reality" - so Is reality true? Can I be absolutely sure that it's true?

The fun part of this second question is that not many things are absolutely 100% full-proof true.

There is a simpler way in dreams though, by just watching your hands – by extending the two hands together in front of your eyes – you will then see during dream-time, that they are deformed.

You might have 4 fingers in one hand, and 6 fingers on the other, and then you become lucid.

But so far, I haven't find a similar simple trick to wake up during 'daily life' – I just know I'm not dreaming because another particular quality of 'daily life' is a possible feeling of boredom, this feeling can't happen in dream-state. In the dream things are shifting, things or events are fluids ; in physical awaken time – you can get this feeling of being stuck and being bored.

Does this mean "Reality is boring" ?

And that isn't true either, for truly awaken people – reality can be as exciting as the dreams, and that's when things are starting to manifests and both reality and dreams are starting to mix.
What is the risk of mixing the real and the illusion?

I guess there is a step forward into the interaction of the reality given as a sandbox and the potential of acting in this sandbox in a more interesting way, than being a mere consumer or a victim of reality. The step forward is to realize that we are creator, and by exercising this power we can bend realities (just like in the dream-state).
And then the question pop-up again .. what is reality?

It can't be only perceptual, because as human beings our sense spectrum is not optimized – it can't be in the mind only because for the brain reality, fiction, illusion are all the same .. informations driven experience...

What about emotions?

Reality will raise emotions, and so will books, movies, etc .. there's a whole industry taking advantages of this "feature". The emotional center is responsive to informations, everything that will provide informations is creating an emotional response. Music in particular can generate a huge emotional influx, just the vibrations of notes, can make somebody become very sad and cry or nourish an internal anger, or laugh – music has this capacity over words that are in many cases powerless when it comes to variety of languages or the audience capacity of understanding.

Music is universal, it doesn't have to go through the door of understanding – it goes directly into the emotional center.

Benefits of meditation

Higher self

For some it might come as a shock that the little voice we hear in our head - that constant noise or chatter - can be stopped. Yes, it can.
How ?
By this practice of quieting the mind.
There are multitude of methods, and each and everyone can find his own way.
The benefits are obvious - for some it will take time to enter that zone, while for some the practice seems to have been inherited from past lives.
Everything is possible, the practice of meditation is highly recommended.
When you silence the chatter, another voice can be heard - it has different names, intuition, higher self etc ...

Diet

After a while, when you practice meditation you will get to know your body, listen to your intuitions, and see things differently.
At some stage, you will probably see the benefits of changing your diet - eat less or no meat, less sugar, and less dairy products.
And you will also be able to listen more carefully, become more compassionate, patient, and be aware of your breathing.
Another step is the awareness of being in the "now".

What you believe, you create

OoBE intent

I'm having a blast reading William Buhlman "Secret of the Soul" - a very good book ; very interesting -- it make many references to another previous book called "Adventure beyond the body".
The topic is achieving OoBE (Out of body experience), a subject I'm very interested in, because this is the best way to get answers ; not by listening or reading things, but by actually having the proofs ; experiencing the truth.
As William Buhlman said in an interview every religion is somehow based on a prophet having mind blowing OoBE and after that trying to convince his followers, which has created a religious system that degenerates -- but the turning point in humanity would be to have the experience ourselves, as individual - this practice if made on a large scale could really revolutionize our beliefs system.

The closest I've been so far, was reaching the vibration state, but I got excited and couldn't go any further - and I had also 3 lucid dreams so far. My intent is to have an OoBE. And I will write the result here in this blog.

In the meantime

Winter is officially over, but Spring isn't strong yet, temperature are still very low and everybody is tired.

Etheric body - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia: In the teachings of Theosophy, Devas are regarded as living either in the atmospheres of the planets of the solar system (Planetary Angels) or inside the Sun (Solar Angels) (presumably other planetary systems and stars have their own angels) and they help to guide the operation of the processes of nature such as the process of evolution and the growth of plants; their appearance is reputedly like colored flames about the size of a human being. It is believed by Theosophists that devas can be observed when the third eye is activated. Some (but not most) devas originally incarnated as human beings

To Be in Alignment

To be in alignment

What Does It Mean to Be in Alignment?: Your emotions are the indication of whether the thought you're thinking at this moment is in alignment with the frequency of your desires and Source or out of alignment with your desires and Source. If you think thoughts which are out of alignment with Source, you feel negative emotion. If you think thoughts which are in alignment with source, you feel positive emotion. You are biochemically hardwired to go in the direction of alignment. All you have to do to stay in alignment therefore is to care first and foremost how you feel, choose to think thoughts that feel emotionally good to you and stop focusing on thoughts which feel emotionally bad to think.
Scott, Teal "What Does It Mean to Be in Alignment?." What Does It Mean to Be in Alignment? EzineArticles.com. http://ezinearticles.com/?What-Does-It-Mean-to-Be-in-Alignment?&id=7135510

Practice

This is currently my focus, and it's simple in some way, and hard at the same time.
I can feel a surge of positive emotions suddenly, to send an email to somebody, then when the computer is started, feel nothing or starting to write the mail and feeling empty.

Another thing, that happen a lot is me questioning the motivations behind my thoughts, and then I realize that many of the things I want to do are motivated by my need for acceptance, and getting approval from people. To get noticed.

After that last realization, I decided to meditate, and tried to do nothing for awhile ; waiting for things to settle down, and to see more clearly how I could be in alignment ; that's when I realized that doing nothing is a nightmare - forcing myself to stay sit for more than an hour is really hard.

I've been practicing meditation daily, every morning (more or less) around 20mn (I don't look at the watch) for about 2 years now. And the chasing of thoughts is something I'm getting better at, especially since I've been introduced to "shadow work" techniques.

But doing nothing, staying still for the purpose of just clearing the way, to let the space of "what is really important" emerges - that's something that gives me trouble ; because, there's a flow of impulses to do all sort of things, washing the dishes, cleaning this, going shopping, cooking, sorting papers, that comes jumping and bouncing like little crazy elves ...

Stillness

And then I'm thinking how do other people do ? they just don't stop - nobody stop, the entire humanity is running up and down, talking, arguing, working, traveling, agonizing, dreaming, all the time - but nobody stop -- does this have to do with the proverbial "idleness is the mother of all sins" ?

What's wrong with stillness ? it's the mother of understanding, the mother of gratitude, the mother of thankfulness. Even when we are babies, people have to come and poke us in the stomach, without even realizing it, because we like to see things moving.

Are we afraid of stillness, because it reminds us of death ?

Yesterday I was staring at a piece of marble, and suddenly for the first time I was watching it - it's like something clicked in me, before I was looking, but a few seconds later I was appreciating what was in front of me, I liked the textures, the spots of colors, the complexity of the patterns, I was present at that moment, it felt good.

It happened after I made some hypothesis on what could be my purpose in life, I retraced my life like everything was a conscious choice of me during all these past years to come to that moment. For example, I said to myself I choose my mother because she was a teacher, and my father because he was smart, then I choose to be born there, and it all pushed me into a catholic school where I was taught things that insulted my intelligence, but I choose to believed them - then it lead me to various boring jobs with no particular interest, which lead me to push everything aside, and to dig into spirituality and then to finally after all these years spent in the darkness of ignorance, to walk the path toward truth, things are starting to make sense, the light is entering. I welcome the light, I'm craving for more knowledge ...

It was like my life was built with the contrast of total immersion in ignorance and suffering and now (after 2010) knowledge and  healing. It's still very much a work in progress, but I felt that way, and then I saw what was in front of me (the marble).

And now I'm seriously thinking to write a "love" letter to Teal Scott.

On this blog, I've mentioned in the past many guides, mind explorers, visionaries and teachers, like Byron Katie, Master Tony, Ma Nithya Sudevi, William Buhlman, Eckart Tolle, Matias de Stefano (and Alan Watts, Terence McKenna, Rudolf Steiner, etc ...)

But there's one particular person, I'd like to support a little more today - because she is like a beacon of light ; That person is Teal Scott ; also known as the "Spiritual Catalyst"

War with the self

Unhappiness is unnatural

To be unhappy is an unnatural state of being ; this is something that has to be learned - this is a disease that parents are transmitting to their children.

You don't believe me ?

What is the benefits of being unhappy ? what's the reward ?
What are the incentives given to unhappy people ?

Being unhappy makes us happy

There's no other way to put it - we are unhappy because we want to conform.
Being happy in an unhappy society is like being oddity.
Ultimately we are free to choose between happiness and unhappiness.
Why do we choose unhappiness ? why do we believe that thought that say "if you're happy, something is going to happen that will ruin everything and then you will be unhappy"

Don't worry, be happy

Dear reader, put a smile on your face and for no reason whatsoever - choose to be happy
opt for the happiness within.
Make peace with yourself - question your thoughts, be friend with yourself.

Spiritual journey

Entering the Spiritual Realms

As of now, I'm still unable to have an out of body experience (obe in short), even though that's my main intention - and I make special care every night before falling asleep to affirm the intent.

Since then, I've stumbled upon many article explaining or listing the dangers that are to be expected in entering the "spiritual world"

The last one I read was from Simona Rich - check www.personal-development-coach.net/awakening-kundalini-and-spirit-contact.html

And this lead me to more reading and learning... because as for all activities, there seems to be a positive and negative aspect attached to it.

I also continue to read (or listen) to Rudolf Steiner lectures - and the recurring message  is that we live in a materialistic era, and therefor we are ignoring the spiritual, which in turn lead to manifestation of spiritual conflict in the physical world (i.e : War, economic collapse, crisis, etc ...)

Finding the balance

On one side ... too spiritual
One the other side ... too materialistic.

To fight off the materialistic aspect I keep a few simple rules
- no meat
- no TV
- no gossip talking
- reading a lot of spiritual books (essentially Rudolf Steiner)
- listening to enlightened people (mostly from youtube channel like Ma Nithya Sudevi, Teal Scott, etc ...)
- doing shadow work
- practicing meditation
- keeping a journal (and this blog)

The benefits so far (this is what I gained) :
- Being patient

- The importance of observing
- More learning
- Staying flexible
- Helping people around
- Being nice
- Gaining in discipline

So my humble conclusion is that If nothing has happened yet, that's because I'm not ready yet

Shadow work

Watching and re-watching Teal Scott videos is tremendously beneficial ; her series is very rich and informative but also very dense - so when I stumbled a couple of times on the term "doing your shadow work" ; it took me a while to really accept that exercise as something really vital for spiritual progression.

Then during this particular lecture on "The fastest way to find happiness" Teal is mentioning Byron Katie. And then postulate that there's nothing more dangerous than an unquestioned thought.

Now, like said in a previous post, I'm trying to have an  out of body experience, and so far I'm not successful at it. The best I could do what lucid dreaming for a very short time.

Doing shadow work means confronting our resistances, our fears, our painful thoughts ...

And that's usually the last thing we want to do, because first hand it looks like it's going to be challenging. But after doing a few sessions of shadow work (either with Teal's method or Katie's method) it actually feels liberating (and also had an impact during dreams).

Since our mind is creating our reality, and our mind is influenced by thoughts ; it is quite important to be able to question what we are accepting in our mind. If you know the saying "garbage in - garbage out", you know how this could turn out.

Teal Scott's method -  is detailed in her video.
Katie Byron's method - called "the work" is going through a series of four questions called "the inquiry" (more details on her website).

After doing shadow work, what previously felt like a sour painful memory is now becoming a friendly thought, that helped understanding and accepting oneself.

State of resistance

When confronted with a problem, there is usually 3 options
a-resist it
b-ignore it
c-act on it

But when we want to act on it - the first reflex is to find a culprit, not to look for a solution - but to trace back to the root of the problem.

That's why after finding a fault, we're starting a chase for the guilty person who made it.

Assuming we are taking responsibilities and know that ultimately the faulty is in everybody.
Since we are one - that assumption in itself, is provocative.

But according to Ho'oponopono  practitioners anyone with the good intent of acceptance and forgiveness can "clean", heal, solve the issue at hand.

Teal Scott is affirming that resistance to a problem, will make this problem bigger and bigger, because resistance own frequencies is attuned with the problem - and therefor a solution is unlikely to be found - this is echoed by Einstein saying that the solution to a problem can't be find with the same mindset of the problem.
No problem can be solved from the same level of consciousness that created it.

--Albert Einstein
To clarify this a bit, let's take a practical example - last week Femen protested directly under the Pope's nose, by chanting "Shut up, homophobe!" - this is a clear act of resistance, against the silent passive religious figure who are condemning homosexuality (by resisting to it).

So it's once again a sporadic resistant act against a passive resistant act over a fact of life - homosexuality exist.

This courageous act of Femen, inevitably will not budge the church position. It only creates more hostility and reaffirm the people on their position. But this attract medias attention, and make the whole circus goes a bit buzzing, just like when you throw a stone in a pool of stagnant water.

Now to clarify a bit, I support Femen and I think Religion is a reminiscence of the Patriarchal heritage that we are dragging around like a shameful stinking carcass.

But if we follow Teal's advice the way to advance on this issue is to see homosexuality as a teacher and try to understand the message for us as human.

Do we (as human) have problem seeing people loving each other ? Do we have issue when we see two people holding hands ? Do we have insecurity over the fact that two people of the same sex are willing to live together ?

There isn't much of a problem suddenly
Invite Your Problems to Stay  : Teal Scott suggests we stop labeling our experiences as problems, and instead see them as our friend and teacher who has an important message for us.

But who benefits from the constant friction ?

Big Brother isn’t watching. He’s singing and dancing. He’s pulling rabbits out of a hat. Big Brother’s busy holding your attention every moment you’re awake. He’s making sure you’re always distracted. He’s making sure you’re fully absorbed.
He’s making sure your imagination withers. Until it’s as useful as your appendix. He’s making sure your attention is always filled.
And this being fed, it’s worse than being watched. With the world always filling you, no one has to worry about what’s in your mind. With everyone’s imagination atrophied, no one will ever in a threat to the world.

Life after birth

There's an interesting paradigm shift story :
In the belly of a pregnant woman were two babies. One asks the other:
- Do you believe in life after birth?
- Of course. Something must exist after delivery. Maybe we're here because we need to prepare for what will be later.
- Nonsense! There is no life after birth. What would that life be like?
- I do not know, but surely there will be more light than here. Maybe we walk on our own feet and nourish us through the mouth.
- This is absurd! Walking is impossible. And eat by mouth? That is ridiculous! The umbilical cord is where we eat. I tell you one thing: life after delivery is excluded. The umbilical cord is too short.- Well, I think there must be something. And maybe it's just a bit different from what we are used to in here.
- But no one has ever returned from beyond postpartum. Delivery is the end of life. And after all, life is but a harrowing existence in the darkness that leads nowhere.- Well, I do not know exactly how it will be after delivery, but sure we'll see Mom and she'll take care of us.
- Mom? Do you believe in Mom? And where do you think she is?- Where ? All around us! In it and through it is how we live. Without it the whole world would not exist.
- Well, I do not think so! I've never seen Mom , therefore, it is logical that she doesn't exists.
- Well, but sometimes when we are silent, you can hear her singing or feel she caresses our world. You know? ... I think there is a real life that awaits us and that we are only now getting ready for her ...

Middle Way

When confronted with evil during a campaign, players are easy to use the sword, and cast spells - than to think it over.

what is the origin of evil, why does evil exists in the first place isn't the type of question your paladin, rangers and cleric would ask themselves... they'll just plunge their sword, throw their battle axe or smash their hammer on the head of the offender than to ask philosophical questions.

And that's pretty much why all role playing games are about fighting and sharing treasure afterwards.

But when neutral people such as druids or monks comes along  and add a balance in that constant fight between good and evil - then it gets a lot more interesting.

Why would a neutral character enter a fight ? for him good characters are just hot tempered for something that won't last - and evil characters are just obviously misguided - neutral characters know that it is of no importance and while the battle are coming, trees will be destroyed, people will die, widows and orphans are going to be made...

A neutral character knows that there is no winner or loser in these silly wars.

But somehow they would make alliance for short period of time, to shorten the damages. Neutral people are wise.

When you are playing a lawful good paladin, you see the neutral druid as a coward hippie with secular traditions - when you are a chaotic evil assassin you see the neutral druid as a potentially dangerous ally of the civilized establishment.

The evil dragon is only caring about his treasure, and would defend it against anybody - evil character included.

The evil necromancer would be only interested in gaining power and probably immortality - and would then attack anybody.

Because although the good characters in roleplay see cooperation as beneficial and wouldn't turn unto a friend, evil characters are very versatile and won't see any shame in treason. That's where game masters have a tough time when players are playing evil characters because the campaign will inevitably end up in a blood bath.

Choosing evil is the fastest way to shorten the life of your character.

While the good guy are struggling they have a better survival chance - technically because of the cooperation that they are willing to be bound with.

But eventually the good and the bad guy are always finding each other - while the neutral are actually the one building things that will endure.

Understanding that beyond good or evil, there is respect for life.

Why do you think the archetype of the druid is an old guy with a white beard ? that's because he has seen many battles, but from a distance.
